Let’s talk about wellies! April showers have brought soggy conditions into early May….the grass is green but a little squishy. What’s the fashionista’s solution to a drizzly day? Colorful, functional wellies!
The Wellington boot was created by Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. It was popular among the hunting circles of the British aristocracy in the early 19th century (although I’m sure theirs’ weren’t as cute as these beauties…….)
In more recent years with changes in manufacturing and particularly the use of PVC we are able to enjoy a vast, colorful selection of styles and patterns. I absolutely love these vintage styles I found on Pinterest!
And who doesn’t want to look great from behind with a couple of fancy bows?
More on wellies later this week when I share more about my illustration process!
